Ariela Farchi profile

Hi, I'm Ariela, and I am building a career that makes the business case for decarbonization

I’m currently a project manager at the Climate Knowledge Initiative, based at Columbia Business School. I lead a team of wonderful research fellows in synthesizing cutting-edge climate research on decarbonization technologies into actionable insights for investors, businesses, and policymakers. Our focus is on identifying the financial and policy levers that make scalable, high-impact technologies investable.

Before this, I was at Karbone, where I built partnerships and structured deals (spot and long-term offtake agreements) for projects in the voluntary carbon market and international renewable energy certificates.

The theme in my career so far: making money go where it needs to go for effective decarbonization.

I also hold an MS in Sustainability Management from Columbia University, and a BA in Business Administration and Environmental Sustainability from Emory University.

Outside of work, I lead a team of doctors on a medical brigade to Guatemala to provide free medical services in areas of the country without access to healthcare. Do I have a background in healthcare, you ask? No - but I have a great co-leader in my sister (MD, PhD - impressive, I know), and a deep passion for making things happen (read: effective project management).

If any of this sounds familiar, interesting, or useful to you, I'd love to connect.

Projects and Publications

These are some projects I've worked on as a professional or a student that I'm proud to showcase. If you'd rather see my CV, please email me!
